Just wondering; what kind of glue and paint are you using?

Thanks for the kind words. The drums were vapor blasted and came out great.

Lots to do, looking at the handbrake assembly at the moment but have to move the jack-stands to install it and then onto the front suspension.

Still got all the brake lines , fuel lines, gear linkage etc to do and the engine is not in yet along with the clutch and throttle setups.

Need to get the wheels to the blaster for powder coating along with some small parts and get the interior and top done. I did at least receive the interior which was delayed 5 months due to shortages.

Still lots to do.

Hi Bart,

I used a 3M spray glue for the sound material, it didn’t stick well in places and so I hand to peel it back and used a gorilla glue in those patches. I wouldn’t recommend using 3M.

The red paint is Sikkens, it looks amazing and my painter excelled himself.

Is was wondering on the 2 layers paint you used for the insulation pieces

I used Eastwoods satin chassis black.

Worked well and looks good. Two very thin coats.

Well, after several months off I finally got the gear linkage and lever installed yesterday, the tunnel area is now complete.

I have been procrastinating over replacing the front suspension needle roller bearings for about 6 months. Today I made an extractor and removed the old ones. It was nothing to think about and they came straight out. I refitted new bearings and other than damaging one by trying to use it to drive the rear bearing in, again, all went well. I fitted the rear bearings all the way after that and then fitted the front ones. Just need to order a replacement bearing as I slightly damaged the front face (too much pressure) but all is great. Onto building the front end once I get the bearing.

Working on assembly of the doors, they were in pieces when I got the car so it’s been a learning curve. Finally got the passenger door built and everything works as it should. Started on the drivers side but need the chrome finishing strip that mounts in the top before I can do much more.

The needle roller bearing for the front suspension arrived today so onto finishing the front end shortly.

I’m told the seats are done but I have not collected them yet. Trying to get the car as a roller so the upholstery can be installed as well as the top. I have a deadline of the end of October to get the car over to my guy for that.

I started to work on the front suspension and made good progress installing and setting up the front leaf spring angles. Digital levels are excellent for this kind of thing.

Nothing was bent and everything shimmed ok with no issues. I’m missing a part for the drivers side but passenger side is making good progress. I’ll get some wheel bearing grease tomorrow and will get the drum on and the brake adjusted. I also fitted the duel brake master cylinder and so all in all good progress.

I have also got both doors assembled, what a pain to get the window mechanism in but slowly figured it out.

I got the engine in last weekend and the starter fitted after a few questions and so all is good.

Also now have all the brakes working, clutch and throttle all connected and set up along with the pedal boards installed. Still lots to do but progress.

Also, big push today as it’s going to the upholsterer on Tuesday morning to install the interior and install the new top. It’s the only thing other than paint I’m not doing. My reasoning is, he has done lots of these and is retiring, my car will be his last and it will give me a break ready to finish this thing off early next year.

Got the wheels on (temporarily) and ready to roll. Still got the heater cans and engine tin to install and finish off the engine wiring when it comes back, hence I left the deck lid off.

Looking good. Reminds me a lot of my Ruby red B cab going together 11 years ago.

Finally repaired, straightened, welded and chromed the original front Overider bar.

It’s prob the first time in 30 years this has been together and the first time I’ve seen it with a finished front end.

My Upholsterer retired before he finished and so I’ve been working on doing it myself. Slowly piece by piece and I’m making progress. This is not my specialty but it’s very statisfying to see it coming together.
