vent window alignment, 64sc

#1 Post by jim woo »

Anyone knows how to align the right vent window? The top of the glass is almost touching the frame opening and the bottom is about 1/8" away. Also the pivot point (located on the sloped edge) is also dropped about 1/16". The glass seems to be too loose, is there suppose to be a gasket/rubber between the glass and the chrome frames at the bottom?

I have had the same issues on my car. The chrome pieces are more or less just glued onto the glass. The upper piece needs to be shifted up and back on the glass to, in effect, move the upper rear edge of the glass forward. I still don't have this right on my car.

Eric has the answer. The top chrome piece has to be adjusted. I use body putty rather than glue or silicon. Kudos, Jim, for having the small fiber washer in the pivot hinge. It is often overlooked. Just insure you also have all the other necessary parts on the lower stem including the brass washers in the space on the lower chrome base.
