David,

Have first hand experience. Great for removing undercoating not for removing rust or paint.

I've had it done to the undercarriage to clean oil, dirt, etc. This process is primarily used for cleaning.

Used dryice blasting to remove calcium scale from inside of a boiler. Also removed the rust from the boiler shell exterior. It took everything off back to white metal. The results you get will depend on the machine you get. Yes this will work just fine but depends on if you just rent a small machine or have a big truck with a big machine come in.

Hi,

Would this be useful for cleaning the engine case? I don't want the bright looks of glass beating, but cleaning and removing a bit of the oxidation on the outside of the case.

While you are in there buying the soda blasting kit you better buy a big compressor as well. You will need it. At least 5hp and 240 volt.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

No not true at all for doing what he wants to do. So works great on carb cleanings too. Just ask Paul Christiansen. It is where I discovered it’s usefulness. Bill Edwards

Has anybody seen the latest advancements in pulsed CO2 laser paint and rust removal systems? Looks like a great way to get down to bare metal with no residues.

As a former coatings application/removal specialist on the F-22 Raptor this looks like some really cool stuff.
