Is a special 12 mm tool needed?? The lower connection to the engine is almost impossible to access. Does the distributor have to be removed??
I have the oil filter off for refurbishing. The inlet hose is no problem.
Thanks!

Should be easy. Once loose remove with fingers. Short wrench will help, crows foot makes it even easier.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

David,
Thanks for the tip. It was a very tight fit, but a 12mm crowfoot wrench did the trick. Maybe a short 12mm flare wrench would also work. I did remove the distributor cap to gain a little more access space.
Air cleaners, oil filter canister and bracket are painted. The engine shroud is next.
