+1 on Kochs but tell them not to polish the spokes, they make them way too glossy.

I have been working on getting all the correct missing parts, ordering seals and such, and sending off stuff I will farm out. Almost have all of the chrome ready to ship off to the chrome shop, just waiting on a couple of more pieces. My guages will be finished restored by the end of next month, and should get my steering wheel back around then as well from recasting. I have been bagging all the loose parts and seeing how they are all put together, always find something new that I will need as as I go. I have been stripping all the paint and filler and straightening the car as I go. I am finishing the left front fender now and have some work to do around the headlight bucket. Someone drilled 19 holes to pull a dent. I have worked up to that spot and need to weld up the holes and continue straightening. Only have a couple of small holes to fill in the right door, then I am off to the hood. So, what is the best way to fix a kinked hood? I was thinking about cutting out the support the bending and shrinking but could use any advise. Need to plug some holes and straighten some damage down low as well. After that I am off to the body damage on the right front fender, that should be interesting to uncover and fix.

Check out the "shims" the factory put around the rear window corners to aid the window and seal fit, Also I had no idea about how much the factory leaded the seams. Check out the amount of lead at the front of the left door!!!

A friend redoing his wife's 64 C found about 1/4 inch of lead where B pillar meets the body. Hood frame must be repaired. Repair pieces from RD or custom made. Make sure not previously repaired with Bondo to look good or your hood frame will lack strength.

Have you found a source for the quarter window rubber. I am at that stage in my restoration. Cannot find them..Will re-use the old stuff if nothing turns up. For reference, I have most of the pictures you might need sourced on my
project tittled, "time to restore my 356 notchback". Just my opinion, Drive it just like it is, work around items and do what is necessary to keep it safe, road-able and fun. I had rust and prior damage and took all apart. Fixed everything at a big cost. Looking back, i could have fixed it, a part at a time, and enjoyed the car all the while. Now, it is going to be so nice I will probably never enjoy driving it for fear of damage and wear and tear. Hard decisions. Good luck on your project.

I would go with Trevor's Hammer Works, I had to return metal from "other places" they were so far off.. Expect to do some shaping anyway, but the closer the better..

Sierra Madre Collection is right up there as well...

i would recommend media blasting, you will discover a lot more. You can't sand the rust out of the little pits and it will start rusting there shortly after you paint it.
