found a small tear in fuel pump diaphragm. so then found a vid about spongy brake pedals which advises the need for bleeder nipples to be pointed up to release trapped air. great, got the the calipers swapped, but stripped banjo bolt passenger side so shipped caliper to zims for time cert. thank you. expecting it back soon. gave attention to hood hinges and now that works better. missing bolt behind glove box. still waiting for my friends to comment on how young i look

now the brakes are working solid but the starter seems to be the next stumbling block. which would be corrected in due order except i got a job and now am out of time. considering the things i have learned leads to these new ambitions to strip it back to the tub, mount on rotisserie, install fresh rubber, real paint, on and on . i just want the closure of having it run first, this successful test fit. the job will be over soon. i'll get back to it.

struggled with starter and power cable and installed new starter thank you stoddard. struggled with timing so now starts pretty easy. struggled with the shift linkage and installed new plastic bushing in the ??? shift rod guide bracket, so it shifts pretty good. took it out for third time, 5 mile loop. got it back to shop in one piece. its making a funny noise so that needs to be tracked down. it has given me a taste of what kind of creature it is. it is meeting my objectives as an investment that will not depreciate and i was able to repair it as opposed to restore it. but you get what you pay for and even though the gruepo or my collection of parts is close to complete and every thing tidy and tight and running, driving, it is an old car. so the components for the heater have to be collected and it needs more attention to how it runs. i hope it can be improved. words are just not adequate to describe what it means to have it this far along.

two months later it still runs. i've put more than 50 miles on it so thats good. i had to be towed home now 4 times but this is mostly my fault running out of gas. put in the pertronics . i think that will help its dependability.
brakes are good. starts easy if i start it a couple times a week. my longest ride was about 15 miles. i'm trying to make a 60 mile trip to borrego and back soon. got a grease gun and found 6 fittings in front so they got lubed. the roads here are so primitive it is pretty loud. found a nice pair of heater boxes so that was a missing piece of the puzzle. thanks stan. i'm pretty happy with the car. is it done? no no no, there are lots of things to fix. the first thing is the oil temp gauge doesn't work. the new speedometer cable doesn't work, somewhere there is a short and all the lights go out. i'm still happy

Congrats Ryan, glad to see the progress you have made! Hope the maiden road trip goes well. I had some similar issues when I first got mine on the road, since then I have put quite a few miles on it.

Best of luck!!
