Yikes, 8 years!
That’s perseverance.
I’m installing my floor pan and my car is on a dolly much like yours. I’m dreading the bottom painting and seam sealer application.
I was thinking about making a rotisserie but am on the fence.
How the heck did you flip it on it’s side?!
I see the jack stands and a winch on the ceiling.
Is it supported by the roof?
A one person job?
Your car looks terrific I hope mine comes out as well.
Ha, perseverance, more like the complete opposite. Pure “lazy”. If I had the energy I would have finished this thing long ago, and it barely had any rust compared to others on here. I just hit burnout and didn’t do anything for huge gaps at a time. This was my third Restortion project and first two were not finished. Yea I know, bad mistake to get too many irons in the fire. Live and learn.
Regarding the Rotisserie, take my advice and put your car on a rotisserie. It will make a HUGE difference. I refused to do it for this one because I already had two other projects that were on rotisserie’s and one actually still bolted to the on rotisserie. I felt like if I put the 356 on another rotisserie that it would be too easy to let the slippery slope of full Restortion take hold. In the end I still did a full floor pan and only made it harder for me. I built a cart that was able to be rolled onto its side so I had access, but not a full rotisserie. Rod Emory uses an Octagon setup which he likes. To me the rotisserie was perfect because properly balanced it is a one man deal. The rack I used requires me to have helpers, which is a PIA.

More rack info. Sorry I missed you’re question. I built a basic Four wheeled cart and then added a half Octagon side with tall arms/legs, which allows the car to be rolled onto its side. The car is strapped down to the cart using HD ratchet straps. I made cradles for front and rear suspension and the car is strapped tightly to the cart. The jack stands hold the car upright. Here are a couple of pics that might show more.

I just realized I have some catching up to do. Engine is in process of being built. Big bore kit with 44mm Weber carburetors. Front disc brake conversion and other stuff. Will post some pics.

Pics. Engine drop off at Jack Lewis Enterprises. I am installing the 69 912 that came with my car when I purchased it. When we tore the engine down Jack said he has never seen a 912 motor in better condition. He guessed that it had no more than 60-80K miles. I am wondering if this was a replacement motor for the 69 it came out of. The serial nos. look completely different than all the others I have seen. I need to post it on the 912BBS.

As Greg Bryan pointed out to me:
“Bob - if you edit your pic before posting it on the Registry site is should show right side up. A simple edit, such as cropping a millimeter off one of the sides, is sufficient.
I assume you're using an iPhone ...
I usually send my self an email with the pictures I take with my iPhone - when I download it, there is a simple edit program and I crop the pic and save it. Very fast.”
Great to see your progress, boy time is flying by!
