I am in the process of installing a street “log” type muffler in my 59 A with the Carrera 2 motor.
Does anyone have a set of the exhaust support struts that they could lay on some paper and trace for me? That would give me the lengths and bend angles. I have the correct metric tubing and all thread to fabricate them. I just need the lengths and angles.
The parts book shows different part numbers for the left and right sides so a tracing of both is needed.
Postage gladly paid.

Re: Carrera 2 Muffler Support Struts
Bill,
On a 692, or 547, the struts go from the fan housing casting mounts through holes in the rear pan to the muffler clamps, tangent to the muffler. I suspect the 587 is the same. The struts should be straight, as they are on the 547, so just lay them out, as straight as possible. I think the left one is straight, but the right one needs to bend to clear post VEE drive distributers. The more bend the more flex.

Bill,
I have quite a collection of struts that I will happily trace for you. Problem is there are so many different ones. Do you have a picture I can use to quickly identify the C2 ones for the street system?

I got lucky - Jeff Adams had a spare set that I was able to purchase.
