Air vents in '53 Normals
There is a current discussion in the Authenticity forum about how the air vents in the door area were blocked off in Speedsters. That triggered a memory that perhaps the blocked air vents were also part of the "USA Standard" configuration to reduce cost of 1953 Normals. Can anyone confirm if this was done or am I remembering incorrectly?

My '53 cab with a 1300 engine was delivered to Autohaus Krauss in Nürnberg, so definitely not a USA Deluxe.

Yes that is correct for US Standard coupes.
Here is the thread on it:

Re: Air vents in '53 Normals
My impression is that only the USA Standard cars had the vents blocked off (coupe and cab). It was so Hoffman could save money on those models. The USA de Luxe and cars shipped to the rest of the world had the vents. I don't know of any importer outside of Hoffman that had them blocked off.
