Rear seat bungee cord
Can anyone with cars built between November 1954 and April 1955 report on the presence of rear seat bungee cord installation known (or at least thought) to be original? Hint: The cars earlier and later either shouldn't or should have them -- in case you wondered...

53248 March 55 had the original appearing hook but no cord when I bought it around 1985.

Re: Rear seat bungee cord
I'd say that makes it a November/December 1954 addition. This corresponds nicely with the introduction of leather suitcases that stowed behind the seat back, which were first described in Christophorus November 1954.

FWIW, here's what the little loop/hook looked like originally. Same as loop/hook on the back of the seat back.
