Stork Oil Temp Gauge - how does it work ?

#1 Post by JohnLiles »

My '55 Coupe has the Stork oil temp gauge fitted . The lead running from the sensor on the engine has a braided metal cover and disappears in to the back of the gauge on the dash . Is this an electrical signal or something else ? It worked until recently !

John,

The gauge is worked through the expansion of the ether in the capillary tube that runs underneath the braided metal cover.
