Fun fact: the Reutter chassis number tags were obviously mounted at the end of production. The blank tag was riveted on the hinge cover first, and then the tag was stamped. On original hinge covers, one can see the impression from the stamping of the digits on the hinge cover itself if one removes the tag.

And yeah Jack, thanks for the extra photos. Looks like the original ones are consistent with what Brett indicated. There's a lot of reproduction tags in those photos, which accounts for the differences. Luckily, repro Stoddard/IM Reutter tags are easily identifiable on the older restorations.
