Fuel pump

#1 Post by Mark Todorovich »

Tried to get the 52 out of the shop. We got about 20 miles and the fuel pump stopped working. It had been rebuilt but for the second time a pin below the inlet worked it’s way out. Mike preened it , it looked like factory did it in two places , Mike did 4.

Some of those later VW 36hp fuel pumps came with a better design which was a slightly longer pin with recesses on either side for E clips. If you hit any VW or Porsche swap meets or look in the samba classifieds you might find a cruddy later used pump for cheap use the pin out of that.

It looks like it has lock clips which would be perfect.
