I am trying to find the correct turn signal bulbs for 12/10/1952 356, (1953 model year).
I think turn signal bulbs should be Ba15d 6V 20/5 W based on the site blow and my wiring.
https://klasse356.com/catalog/showItems ... tegory=EBF
But I can't seem to find these bulbs any place.
Or maybe I have the wrong bulb holders?
My car has dual filament turn signal/running lights wiring and bulb holders. The strange part to me is the bulb holders take bulbs that have pins at the same height on both sides, which would mean you could put the bulbs in backwards.
Any help on this would be great.
Thanks,
Matt

Re: Early 1953 turn signals /running lights
Matt,
My '53 used the same bulbs. I asked the same question a few years ago and got the following answer from Brad Ripley:
"Alan is referring to a bulb designated as BA15d, or IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) standard 7004-11A, and DIN standard 49721. This bulb is not to be confused with BAY15d which has offset pins. Note the lower case "d" is for double contact (lower case "s" would be for single contact).
The bulb is our number 900-631-008-90. It now comes in only a six volt 21/5 watt; originally it was 18/5 watt. Height is taller than in the old days. It may require the socket to be pushed lower in the lamp base so the bulb will clear the lens."
Also as I recall the bulbs base is marked with an "up" notation which signifies how the bulb is to be installed so the correct filament is in the correct circuit.

Thanks for the information Allen. The other issue is modern large globe bulbs melt the plastic lenses. Both of my front lenses have melted marks in them.Alan Hall wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 5:45 pm Matt,

Thanks Donald I will order a couple of these and see if they are correct. I ordered the ones that Stoddard says are correct for a 1953 and the bulb pins are offset. I was thinking of grinding the high pin off to see if that works.Donald Zingg wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 5:52 pm Also, maybe this - - -

I ordered some of the ones in the link below and the glass globe is too big and hits the lens so they don't work:

Re: Early 1953 turn signals /running lights
Another question I have about the bulb holders on my car.
I noticed that the bulb holders have studs to mount the bulb holder to the body instead of bolts like I see on all the ones for sale.
Are these an early style of bulb holder or something else?
