1955 Speedster correct paint code for Wieb?

#1 Post by tom collingwood »

Looking to paint my speedster. It was originally white. Would it be Ivory or other white?

Karex claims " WIEB"

probably says Weiß - aka speedster white :) - the guys at deluxe customs in Tempe did a '54 in speedster white - they may be able to support. Won best pre A award at the WCH in Flagstaff last year iirc.

One of two things I sort of know about German, the funny B type letter means double S. I think.

You can get a Reuters build book with colors and samples.

But a purer white than ivory.

1955 Speedsters came in white, red and blue. The white is definitely purer than ivory as Richard says. I just finished a 55 in white. I have a code for PPG single stage that I would be happy to share. E-mail me if you want the code.
