Windshield wiper shaft seal and cap

#1 Post by Aki Ruohonen »

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out what are the correct parts for windshield wiper installation. Most, if not all, vendors list these rubber grommets from pre a to T5. Actual images from pre a:s suggest there is lower grommet capped with this.

What would be the correct parts for '53?

Br,
Aki

Hi Aki, no need for the grommet on a pre A car. Just a little seal under the washer.

Water pumps are for windshield washers only.

Thank you Jules, I'll use the thin seal.

On a Pre-A peeder is there a depression in front of the wiper shaft. Does this same detail offered by Julian apply to the Speedsters? Bill Edwards

No - - the cowl is "smooth" around the holes for the wiper shafts.
Also, the inner/outer rubber bushings for the gearbox spindles are unique for the Speedster.
They are not listed as a separate item in the pre-A parts catalog.
International Mercantile makes them - - stock number M112c - - -
