front nose panel gap to battery box?

I am installing a fresh nose to my 55 speedster.
what size gap is correct between the lower nose panel and the battery box?

It will be useful to get this dimension but I’d use it more as a guide. The fit of the nose to a correctly aligned hood would be my main concern.

Btw, the reproduction nose pictured above in Tom’s post is a late A nose. 1952 to 1956 noses had a much lower hanging “chin”, where the lower valence extended down and back.

Thanks James for the pictures. I have a template from a pre A chin. This is the shape I made to look like a pre a. I would love some opinions on the shape.

It looks like the "chin" runs between the slots for the bumper brackets. Your template looks accurate in shape and location. Before & after pics of my '53 cab (replacement nose panel from Trevor):
