It’s not correct but an H4 will sit on the ledge very nicely that the P45t fits in and the filament is at least very close to the correct depth. Fits better after filing three slight recesses for the tabs. I’ve been running that way for 40 years.

Very cool Jules. Really excited to see some warm white headlights (and signal lights). That's a great authenticity-usability compromise. I will definitely be getting a set for all-around on my car.

You need some of these, Martin 6v p45t halogen.Martin Benade wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 11:08 am It’s not correct but an H4 will sit on the ledge very nicely that the P45t fits in and the filament is at least very close to the correct depth. Definitely brighter than stock tungsten, but my LEDs will be about 4x brighter yet.

Re: 6V LED Headlight Replacement
I have used quartz halogen head and driving lights since the 60's when it was virtually mandatory if you rallied to be able to see where you were going on forest trails. Hella, Lucas and Cibie were dominant in that market. I found that on my 1200cc VW any more than 2 extra lights and my genny warning light did more than glow with 60 watt QH bulbs in the headlights and the driving lights. 240 watts was just a little too much for the stock VW genny.
To my mind the biggest single advantage of the LED headlights is the reduction in wattage which is advantageous in every aspect. Less resistive hotspots, less load on the genny and wiring apart from the increased light output.

If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Re: 6V LED Headlight Replacement
The UK shop that I referenced sells a bulb adapter to put the H4 bulb into the standard housing. I shopped around and found two new H4 lights without bulbs for under $100 at a Jeep supply.

I believe by his latest posts Jeffrey is selling his house in Florida and going out of business? It has been a while since I spoke with him.David M Patrick wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 11:47 am Go to the vendor section of resources and get in touch with Classico Wheels.
They have a very nice product, but I do not believe any of their LED substitutes are vintage white.

Re: 6V LED Headlight Replacement
Hi Jules - if you offer a kit with the parts needed to convert from sealed beam to 6V LED that work well on both low and hi beam I am all in. I would also purchase 2 x 12V sets.
I purchased a set of relatively inexpensive sealed beam LED replacements from another vendor and was sorely disappointed. Bright but no pattern to the low beam. And when adjusted correctly for low beam the high beam was aimed at the tree tops. Maybe I can canabilize the reflectors for use with your bulbs.

Re: 6V LED Headlight Replacement
I have read on the forum that the Fellman lights give a diffuse light pattern. Not knocking the product just repeating what actual users have reported on the forum. That’s why I went the route I did with the H4s and a bulb designed to work with the lens. Gives a bright focused beam. See the photos in a link above in this topic.

Any news here Jules?
I've been hanging out for these and wondering if they're close?

Re: 6V LED Headlight Replacement
Apologies for the long wait gents! It was quite challenging. I ran into a couple of issues while testing prototypes. It is a delicate balance between maximum output and what is available in terms of voltage with the 6v. The 12v were easy in comparison.
BUT...
I am in production now. Drop in (plug and play) replacements for the sealed beam. Warm white, so they look virtually identical to stock on and off (not the 'prius
' white). Fantastic beam pattern with a clear cutoff for the low beam, so super easy to aim. And last but not least, very bright at a mere fraction of the draw. Makes halogen look like candles.
I will update those who reached out via email as soon as we are read to ship.
There will also be a solution for those running the European p45t bulb.
