Hi Tim. Could you describe it further and put in a picture please? It’s a cutter to use on the rubber, or the body aperture for the rubber?
Now it is crystal clear what it is after your edit. A useful tool I am sure.

Martin,

Tool is inserted into the channel where the perimeter rubber seal is installed and then pushed or as a rule knocked thru the channel with a small hammer to restore the original interior dimensions. Exterior, cosmetic, issues with the channel (pry marks) can be addressed by leaving the tool, now acting as a buck, in the channel and "metal working" the exterior of the channel. Picture soon.

I think a similar tool for straightening out deco channels will sell well.

According to the inventor you are going to put tis in the track of the sheet metal and with a hammer (I think small) and knock it the length of the channel that holds the rubber. How do you hold the front and rear sheet metal on the 356 that is curved? A response would be appreciated. Thanks al zim

Al, I have one of the tools, and it works well. I held the rear pan in one hand and tapped the tool with a hammer, working it through the channel. I also used a pair of duck bill pliers to do a bit of pre-straightening.

I have one also and it works pretty well. A little tight around corners and I would like it more if the edges had a bit more radius.
