Re: Just beginning my '63 Outlaw build
Adam,
You are aware of course that the undercoating is a good part of the sound deadening, and consequently of the "feel" of the car.
And what is the big hole in the dash to the right of the glove box for.?

Harlan - yes I am aware of the traditional role of undercoating, but I did spray a thin coat of sealer/sound deadener (the black coat on the pan) prior to color. Additionally, the interior will get a full dynamat layer which will be far more effective than any original jute or carpeting. I'm hopeful it will work out. My 964 was handled similarly and is perfectly pleasant to drive. The hole on the far right was for a stopwatch that was installed when I bought it. I thought it was cool so left it in place.

Re: Just beginning my '63 Outlaw build
The factory sometimes installed the outside temperature gauge to the right of the glove box if a clock was also installed. If the hole size is the same as the clock hole my bet is an outside temperature gauge originally occupied the hole.

@Steve Proctor - they are new heads that John Wilhoit is producing. Not modified old heads...

Your last picture finally give me a sense of the color. I like it a lot, it’s similar to a color I put on a R 75 with a Hanigan fairing a long time ago.

Making progress. All systems in. Engine went in this morning. Close up shot of machined door handles on car. I'm hoping we are driving around the parking lot next week.
