Hey guys,

is the front script of the 1959 356 the same as the one on the back of the car?

That is not a nice picture to post Dan. I enjoy trouble shooting and unraveling reasons why folks do certain things and I understand chrome tops for gravel guards on Zenith carbs, but your oil filter gubbins has me lost and what is the chrome topped plunger looking thing in the dipstick holder in the oil filter bracket?
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

The thing with the license plates/cardboard is an ancillary oil cooler (installed by the PO and at one time, a Registry Member) and it keeps the engine way too cool without it's coverings. The plunger looking thing is the oil temp thermometer from Ron and located in the OE dipstick holder. Course, it needs to be installed in the dipstick tube to read the oil temp in the sump.

Perhaps, these air filters can be used over the gravel cleaners.......

A bypass oil cooler? Who'd a thought it?

Guys, the question was about the size/measurements of the scripts ... ;)

Looked at several sites and it seems that back ones are longer/ wider and front scripts the same as the A's on the early B's.

I think the front script is the same as the rear one on an A car and you can check the hole pattern to confirm.

My 59A has both front and back script: they are both 21.5cm in length.
