60 356B holes in drivers side wheel well
Hi all,
I’m working on my restoration and have a question. I know that there is one hole in the driver side wheel well (for the speedometer cable) and i think that is it. I am planning to weld up these other 2 holes. Before i do that, i though i had better check in with the experts to see if i was missing something. What say ye?

NO holes! Your speedo cable does not go through a separate hole. It should pass through the large tie rod hole.

Vic,
Thanks for the reply. My dad has a Conv D and his does what you say. We assumed it was done differently for B’s and C’s. This is why i asked! Thanks again!

I did not know about T5 but T6 is like this pic, so one hole is for attaching short strap to cable. But I dont think any of the 3 on your car are it. It is right on the edge of the large opening.

Thanks again for the replies. Below is a photo from under the dash. Can i assume the the hole above and to the left of the hole for the steering column is where the speedo cable should be routed (to the right of the parking brake assembly?

Re: 60 356B holes in drivers side wheel well
Another similar question. I know some of these holes are for the bumper brackets. Are the other ones supposed to be there?
Left side: i see 6 holes. I know two holes are supposed to be there for the bumper brackets (the ones that are threaded. One below the brackets and one above. Are those supposed to be there? I’m assuming i should plug up the holes that will be covered by the bumper brackets.

What about the right side: (Sorry it is upside down). I see 5 holes. Same questions as the left (driver’s side).
Appreciate any help

Maybe the “top” holes are for the horn wiring?

Didn''t the drivers side have a hole for emergency hood opening in case the cable broke.

That is above what can be seen in my photo. If you look at the top of the first one, you can see a white “rope” or “string” that i am using temporarily.

My 63 on the LH side, 2 bumper bolts, one small lower is ground wire for horn and turn signal, two for the emergency hood release loop (I plugged one), and the small in the middle is the horn power wire harness.

The RH side, 2 bumper bolts, 1 small lower is ground (same as LH), 1 small in the middle for horn power (same as LH) then one larger hole that is above the bumper bracket and just ahead of the torsion bar reinforcement is for the gas tank over flow ( this may be different from yours?).
