Competition motors plate frame

#1 Post by James L Hussey »

I've been unable to find any information on plate frames associated with the North Hollywood location of Competition Motors in the mid 50's.
I am looking for plate frame or at least an image of one if it ever existed. The later Woodland Hills frames are out there, along with an image of a suspected recreation of the Hollywood frame.
Thanks!

James, I just Googled "Competition Motors" and a lot of info including some pics came up.

Mike, I've searched extensively for the specific North Hollywood version but have only found one pic of that frame and it appeared to be a reproduction. The Oldplateguy does produce one but I need an original for the Pre A Speedster I'm restoring.

There is a guy that sells license plate frames at the Literature Show. I did see he had a Competition Motors Woodland Hills one a few years ago for big bucks but I didn't see one for North Hollywood. I thought one of the Googled pics was an original frame. Lots of repros, though.
