Nose emblem placement

#1 Post by James L Hussey »

I searched for this with now luck.
I'm looking for some measurements for the Porsche emblem location on the nose of a 1955 Speedster we're restoring. Thanks!

If you are referring to the "PORSCHE" script, I think there have been several discussions on that. I assume somebody could lead you to them.
Doug? Can you help.

Correct Vic, the script. I'd imagine it's been discussed many, many times over the years. I just can't find the thread(s) Thanks!

Well here is one location for Speedster: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=42433&p=273132&hil ... pt#p273132 I would want more than one datapoint though. Note that this 42mm distance is from the lowest edge of the hood. In Jim Kelloggs 2nd edition he gives a measurement of 1 5/16th inch from the edge of the hood opening( NOT the hood). Is your nose original? If so the back of the panel should have a mounting strip most likely with bondo filled holes. I sent you Dick Weiss contact info but I just read that he filled the holes and deleted the script during a repaint of his Carrera Speester 20 years ago.
