Original Fuel Hoses on 356C?
Recently purchased a pretty original 356C Coupe. Do these look like the original fuel hoses attached to the fuel pump?

They look original to me.

Looks to me as though the ferrules were never crimped, and should be one on both ends of the flex hose. Maybe someone just pushed the ferrules on and did not have the tool to finish the job. If the flex line is original it will be atrophied by now and porous to fuel .
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

The hoses on my original 64/65 `C` were exactly as per your photograph
I do not believe that Fuel Hoses were ever crimped at `The Factory`
If it is your intention to reuse the existing ferrules (I do not think that new ones are available) it is critical to obtain the correct size Hose - Both I/D and O/D
Measure the existing hose carefully (in Metric, of course)

Mine were crimped. Stoddard has the ferrules.

Thanks guys. Prior owners mechanic rebuilt the fuel pump recently so I guess with the ferrules not crimped he was able to easily remove and reinstall the original hoses. So the consensus is that the ferrules were NOT crimped at the factory. Then I think I'll just get some new ferrules and hose and duplicate these originals.

I’ve used ferrules without crimping them for years on motorcycles with no issues. The ferrule if it’s a good fit over the OD of the hose stops the hose from expanding when the pipe is pushed in and gives a tight fit.

I think we now use them as a trim item, to look proper. I am pretty sure the consensus will be that they were always crimped at the factory, but I am open to correction.

Those are not original fuel lines for your C.
The originals had a blue tracer in the lines. You'd find this on all the lines, engine, fuel line exiting the tunnel, fuel line from tank to the tunnel at front of car, and the fuel vent line.
I am trying to add a photo, but it does not seem to be working for me.

Ferrules were not crimped at least not at the pump. See factory Workshop Manual, page SE 34, Fig 4 and page SF 30, figs 5 - 6.
See T-6 Parts Katalog illus. 1/7 a A, and in the drawing, the upper ferrule and the inlet is crimped -- but not the ferrules on the end of the hoses.
For the ferrule, see current part, 901 108 219 00 here: http://www.nlaparts.com/store/hose-end-p-2767.html Earlier p/n was 547 08 204.

Brad-
Thanks for referencing the drawing for us. Below is a picture of what Brad referenced.
Studying the page, it appears the fuel lines were assembled by a supplier to PORSCHE, and when the lines were made up by the supplier, the ferrules were crimped, making a sturdy assembly. In the photo below for T-6, that meant 4 crimped ferrules. I suspect the ends at the fuel pump arrived from the supplier bare. When the fuel line was installed to the engine, the 2 end caps at the fuel pump were slid on, not crimped.
