Porsche COA vs PPS vs CTC vs Kardex

#1 Post by Nedim Alexander Aruz »

Question for the group..I am aware that the COA has been superseded by the PPS. I have also read that PPS no longer includes engine/transmission numbers and have to get the CTC to have that info. CTC requires the car to inspected at a Porsche classic center as I recall. So...with all that said, how about the good old Kardex.

I'm really just trying to get the following info on my 1965 356c. Original colors (i have exterior paint code on door jam) but want to confirm interior color as well as the engine and transmission numbers and possibly any options that came with the car.

Given all the hoopla around the COA/PPS/CTC...Is Kardex my best bet? How and where can I get that data?

Kardex and reuttters build book are the two essential items in my opinion. The latter gives you colors and samples even.

Thanks...do you know where/who I can source them from?

My Kardex source sent by PM Usually takes about 2 business days. If you car was built by Reutter then Re: Reutter certificate

Through Erlkönig Classic in Germany, contact Guido Eickholz here:

If your C is a 65 most 65s are Karmann if a coupe. Chassis starting with 1= Reutter but Reutter was bought by Porsche and I am not sure if Reutter Certificates are available for cars built after the sale. If your chassis number starts with 2 then you have a Karmann body and Kardex is the only source for more info.

Doug.....just put it out there for everyone to see, because this same question comes up often. I don`t know why people are reluctant to post his name, he does.

True but many asking are Newbies who may not know how to do an author search. Nedim has only been a member for a few days. Plus an author search will only find him if you enter David Pateman -Dave Pateman gives no results.

I would still be a bit cautious with the source. If the Kardex door gets closed, look what you're left with. That's a no brainer.

Wes You bring up a point that worries me. Are there people with copies of the Kardex software? I hope so because if the only source is Porsche they will shut down getting a Kardex eventually. David has a source with access but I doubt access is to the actual physical Kardex file system.

Nedum I checked with Erlkönig Classic and Reutter Certificates are NOT available for Chassis built by Porsche after they bought Reutter's body business. So if your body builder badge says Porsche Karroserrie the Reutter Certificate will NOT be available for your car even if the chassis number starts with a 1.
