356C Shifter insallation

#1 Post by Michael Sparacino »

Hi,

Does anyone have a photo of the proper shifter installation. I'm trying to figure out the correct way to put in the shifter stop plate. It has a tab that can either go left or right up or down to allow proper shifting ( especially reverse). The drawings from the manuals I have do not show this very well.

Thanks for the help.

Michael, this is your 3rd post with the same question. What about the previous answers was not sufficient to solve your problem and if you have a specific problem please use the same thread to reply as to the status of your problem or there will be no continuity to the resultant answers? The factory drawing is very specific as tp the correct order of assembly of the parts.
Michael, I just noticed that you posted your question under the authenticity banner, I think if you post questions of a general technical matter in the general forum you will reach a wider audience. Authenticity is usually related to originality of specific parts for different model years rather than mechanical assembly questions of a general nature.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Understood Michael, just trying to help you figure out your problem. The search feature is sometimes your best friend but it is rare you will get anything but helpful replies to most queries. We are here to help.

The bottom photo is correct. It was taken before disassembly. I didn't mean to post the top photo.

Just go back into your post and delete the top photo
