Levers Paint or Plate?

#1 Post by Dennis Vogel »

Are the levers (I thought they were linkages, but the parts book calls them levers), originally painted or plated? Number 10 and 15 in the attached image.

I swear I had read that the long one (10) was painted black and the smaller (15) to match the shroud (silver on S90), but it's not looking consistent with the photos of rebuilt S90 engines I'm finding.

Thanks for clarifications and / or sources.

Those were plated, I believe clear zinc is either correct or very similar to the original

Never saw a painted set on any reasonably correct engine.

Plated. Believe this setup is a pretty good effort towards originality save for fan belt and coil... and of course, Ron’s full flow oil filter.
