356A T-2 SEKURIT Door Glass Change

#1 Post by John Chatley »

Hello Everyone,
I posted this in the Main Discussion, under the Sekurit survey topic, but maybe it belongs in "Authenticity".
This pertains to the non-vent window door glass in the 356A coupes.

Does anyone know when the change took place from the older and larger SEKURIT 3-line side window logo to the smaller 4-line one on the 356A coupes?
See attached photos.
I'm confused because my low mileage March, 1959 coupe had one of each, so one of these had been replaced when it was repainted by the previous owner.
Also I noticed that the older door glass & logo has a mounting rail that is the full width of the window, while the newer logo and glass has a shorter mounting rail.

There doesn't seem to be any info on this in Johnson's Authenticity books or looking through 356Talk searches.
Thanks,
John
