Trying to find owners of late Pre-A and early A cars with factory fitted seat belts. Would like to document belts used and mounting.

Joris, I too have seen the black-and-white images of those rather strange seat belts in the early accessory books. But have you ever actually seen a factory belt installed in a car like that? I have not.
I will be very intrested to see if there are any replies...

Dick, I also have never seen them on a car. Hope this thread might shed some light on the use of early seat belts. The T2 and up belts are well documented but the early belts are a mystery

Not sure if they offered seatbelts in 55 but I had a set made for static display only.
I used the belt material one of the Registry members offers, NOS hardware and flat crests.

Joris, just to clarify you are asking about the belts that had a lever to lock the belt and not the normal seat belt buckle, is that correct?

Do we have any images of that one?
What about the one in the accessory photograph showing an underlying protective flap, presumably to guard against damage to the clothing of the occupant.
Many early belts didn't have a metal to metal locking device but were dependent on a friction lock on the belt which passed through the buckle. But I think I'm digressing here to many of the things that I recall from back in the day. And there were a lot. It's the factory items that we are concerned with here.
