I removed the factory sound deadening from under the back window and discovered the paint color name (Email Blau) written in red wax crayon. Obviously put there before the car was painted since the crayon wiped off and left bare metal.
Common practice?

Re: Factory paint markings
My insulation (also Karmann C) is still in place, but I will check to see if I can carefully pull back for a peek.

Re: Factory paint markings
Just looked and my headliner from the lower portion (below the rear windshield is carefully glued down to the insulation. I could pull it back, but am deciding against it. It would be fun to see- and thanks for sharing your photo Dave.
