Re: Twin Grill 1960 Coupe?
I have a factory , 1960 S-90 coupe, with a deck lid that matches the one shown by Adam above. The last 3 numbers are stamped on the lid and match the stamping on the doors and front lid. It has several other oddities. I have seen 3 other coupes like it. All 3 were S-90, 2 others had GT gas tanks with the access door cut in half. Some, like mine, didn't have undercoating, no radios, or clocks. Several people have told me that the factory produced about 50 cars that were sold to privateers to race in 1960. The car was black on black and shipped to Max H in NYC.
It would be great to locate others and get additional info. The lid doesn't show up on the Kardex

What do you mean by gas tank access door? Isn’t it just under the hood?

This is an old thread, just saw your question. Yes, a few of the very first early 1957 factory Werkes steel bodied Carrera 1500 GT cars had hand cut and shaped louvers. 5 on each side of the deck lid. When the late 1958 Carrera 1600 GT model came out there were 6 louvers on each side of the then Aluminum deck lid. /MD
