Re: 356C Sunroof Assembly Question
I had a new headliner installed & the 2 screws at each corner were not installed. Installer was not sure that they belonged there. I have them but not sure exactly where they go. Can someone provide exact measurements from side and front of panel. Also, I would like to obtain new screws if available. Thanks, Tom

I had a new headliner installed in my C sunroof & the 2 screws at each corner were left off. I have them but need dimensions as to where they are located from side and front of the sliding panel. Also, where are new ones available. Thanks, Tom

Re: Sunroof Help
Hi Tom, Sorry I can't give you any measurements. I have attached 2 photos of my [ I think] original Sunroof panel from my 1965 Sunroof, Porsche build.
The tabs on the rear of the Front edge on my panel are welded on. They look original. One of them has been re - welded at some time and is worse than amateur, but the others are perfect.
On a previous post these tabs appear to be bent sheet metal, whereas mine are a solid, about 1/16" thick.
The screw fastens into each of the corner tabs. On mine, screws have been attached to all the tabs for some reason, badly done of course.
I imagine if you got the measurements from someone else's Panel they may not match yours, as there seems to be a bit of latitude in the way the upholstered panel could be fitted. But I could be wrong.
If your upholsterer has retained your original 'fibreboard' panel, and just covered it in new vinyl, I wonder if it would be possible for you to use a fine needle or similar to see if you can locate the original holes.
Perhaps my photo can give you a rough idea of their location on each corner.
The very front underside metal part of the Panel is covered with glued on vinyl.
The Upholstered Panel is done in 3 sections.
These look original, but hopefully someone more knowledgeable can comment.
Thanks, jim

Re: Sunroof Help
The liner on my 62 is only attached in 2 places at the front corners and not all along as appears in the 65 pics

Re: Sunroof Help
Sorry, should have been clearer in my post. The original fastening screws in the headlining panel are on each corner in the front.
The other screws along the front have been added, by an amateur bodger, in the past. Not original.
Apologies for the confusion. jim

Re: Sunroof Help
Hi Group,
Enclosed is an Excel spreadsheet of all the parts that are needed for a T6 electric sunroof along with updated part's numbers, part descriptions, amount required, and where they can be obtained. These parts correspond to the enclosed Porsche parts number diagram.
Cheers,
John

I'm installing a sunroof into my '63 S-90 coupe. I've posted lots of pix on the ABCGT forum if you're interested in viewing:

Re: Sunroof Help
A Registry member was asking about building a new sunroof headliner frame and reinforcement piece. I previously posted this back in 2015:

Re: Sunroof Help
Tom,
Sierra Madre just started selling the SR headliner frames. They are selling them for $387 unlike the eBay listing of $802!!
http://www.sierramadrecollection.com/35 ... 28177.html
I made mine for about $5 and made a second one for Bob Soldani who let me measure his original headliner frame!!
