Charlie..I purchased the car from an auto museum and they lost all documentation. The only history is what the car gives up.. Like the HCP sticker on the engine. I will try to get some photos, but cannot make the small enough yet, Mark

Interesting to see in Tom's photo the two strips of tar paper that go underneath the battery. You have to zoom in to see them, but they are there. These show up in the parts manual as well, but nice to see original ones.

No louvers in the engine lid inner splash panel???
That screams 1962 to me, as does the fiber fuse box cover.
And the gas tank color, and Sebastian's comment about the lack of a brake fluid reservoir.
That's one hell of a prototype.
I'd like to see the rear bump stops, as well as the parking brake cable fittings at the rear of the chassis.
What's the trans number? That's MY specialty.

Tom,
Any answers on those items? Also, what about the "hidden" chassis number?

Also...
If the heater slides are original, are they six screw (late B and C) or four screw (early B)? And I see the drain box in the cowl has an angled drain indicating B vice C. While both of these issues are not hard tell-tails, they do support the subject.

Vic...does the A model have a hidden VIN? If so, where is it? Thanks, Mark

Mark,

I believe they were only on B/C cars and not earlier.

The "hidden" VIN is stamped underneath the door hinge cover
plate on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Sebastian is right, only the B/C cars have hidden VIN, though I wish all the cars did. Like the time I drove all night to go look at what was told to me was a 50 Coupe, turns out it was a 52, with the VIN rotted away...
We narrowed it down to two cars, but how do you choose?

45 degree bend on fresh air box and washer bottle has tube through body-not through cap. Both associated with 62 cars.

And arm rests and a black fuel tank... interesting indeed!
