Okay - figured out what the problem is - had car at son's shop tonight - we replaced the clutch cable and Bowden tube - much better action now! The accelerator pedal didn't have a spring behind it but it does now and much nicer feel.

Figured out the sticking brake pedal > there was a previous repair to the front end collision damage - somebody did some not so precise welding in bulkhead area - the master cylinder is not sitting straight and level - it's definitely out of alignment - so we're going to address that as soon as I can grab my son again.

Thank You everyone for your suggestions.

Back at it this afternoon and after receiving a pep talk from Martin B. - Not quite there but making progress by tightening down master cylinder nuts with a 13mm curved wrench - The brake pedal is returning with the bent brake pushrod so next session will try with the new pushrod that is straight. Getting exciting here . . .

Hey Ken, I guess you know now how the pushrod got bent. :-).

Good sleuthing. Glad you're on track to getting it all fixed up.
