Re: Pickle fork wipers
Maybe related to the bosch vs SWF wiper gearboxes?

Re: Pickle fork wipers
You are taking about the length of the mounting base with the flat shaft removed? I looked at my 58-59 A Coupe pickle fork wipers, all three sets are SWF and the bases are 73mm long, overall length for coupe is 253mm w/ base. I have two different lengths of pickle fork arms, 197mm (253mm overall) and 188mm, and (about 18mm slide into the base)The bases on the earlier A set screw blade assemblies (non- fork style) are 65mm for 56-57 coupe overall length is 260 w/base.
I have some mid-50s VW bases that are 58 and 60mm, plus a few that are 82 long from later buses.
There are also two different widths of the flat arms, 4 and 6mm. The original bases do not look like what is being currently sold by most shops.
With the arms and blades installed do the they fit the windshield?

Re: Pickle fork wipers
Thanks Steve, after checking with a bright light the 60mm are marked VW. The 65mm are on my car a 1956 so it looks like all is well.
Thanks again Mike
