Hi Ibrahim,
Which detail are you trying to document? Would there be a difference in the body builder?

Re: Any one Has a very early 1962 model
Hi Joris,
I do not think there would be any difference.
There was a short run of clip on version of fuse box cover ,trying to locate the factory change date and vins.
Having in my possession all original 41K miles Coupe build date is 10/17/61 has both pins but also has side holes on the fuse bracket which rubber band with the hooks attaches
It looks like factory corrected this bad engineering of clip on to the pins from the fuse bracket very soon they realized was a bad design.
So,
As I read in Brads book, change is occurred around February 1962....This date could be wrong. Confirming from my car even you have a fuse box bracket with 2 pins sticking out
if you have the two holes on the sides of the bracket where rubber band hooks to, you had a plain fuse box cover not clip on early version.
Hope to see more Vin #s and fuse box bracket picture to further confirm ...

Re: Any one Has a very early 1962 model
My friend has owned his 62 for a long time and only once has driven it around the block 118798 so not early. He doesn't knowthe build date. It has the studs and the hole for hooking the rubber strap

The hole for the rubber band hook appears to be 'neater' than the one in your photo, Ibrahim. Possible that it may have been drilled later?
The stud ends in my car are flat and and don't have what appears to be a captive end as in Ibrahim's photo.
Thanks for pointing out what was missing, Doug.

Those 2 pins must be hidden behind the wiring for the Leoni relays I assume?

Re: Any one Has a very early 1962 model
And This one is Vin # 117795 estimated build date 9/20/1961
Rubber band hook hole is present .
Seems that;
Fuse block plates with two studs (pins ) used till they finished them all .(Supplier must have build them hundreds )
Most likely shortly after ( Clip on fuse box cover problems ) factory or dealers used the rubber band ..

Hi Ibrahim,
Are you looking to find the latest date that the band was used? My 1963 Karmann Coupe VIN 211023 with a build date 8/9/62 has the holes. 1961 Roadster VIN 89452 with build date 10/16/61 has fuse box under dash.
