#1 Post by Peter Silten »

Several vendors now sell reproduction Klein screwdrivers. How to they compare to the originals?

Awhile ago Paul Bernado? did them & they were very good. He may be the only supplier. Not sure

You'd probably have to do a side by side comparison, Peter.

Mike, I am hoping somebody has already done that. I have an original slotted screwdriver and just need a Phillips. Something to look for at the next Lit Meet.

Maybe something will come up before then and of course a member reading this might have one. Just be aware there are scammers out there that respond to wanted ads.

we sell two different sets, of Klein like screwdrivers, BOTH from the Porsche parts depot. One set has two Klien look with a couple of black ones as well, but no Klein embossment. The second set looks exactly like the original Klein in the C early 911 kits but says "porsche" on it

Main visible difference is the shank or screwdriver shaft does not extend as deep into plastic handle as an original.

I now have the reproduction Kleins in hand. They are very nice and very close to the originals. I don't have an original Phillips but from what I recall the reproduction appears to be almost indistinguishable from the original. The slotted screwdriver has some tooling on the tip which is not found on the original. Here are some photos:
