Not applicable to the 912 pump unless pump has been changed to the earlier version
This is the pump you should have. No grease needed.

If you already rebuilt it then just pack the cavity with a good high temp wheel bearing grease. I hope you preloaded the diaphragm as per the above the manual.

I did not. Because I rebuilt an existing pump that I had on hand.
I am not sure what to do to preload this pump ?? I will be taking the old pump off the motor. Do I measure from the face of the flange to the face of the lever ??
I have not tightened the screws on the rebuilt pump yet

The manual which is available on the main website gives a good run down on the rebuild but in essence you must ensure that the diaphragm is flat across the two halves as you tighten it down. I use a 10 mm bolt with nut set to the correct length and I hold the pump in a vice with the bolt extending the diaphragm to the correct position. If I remember correctly the dimension is 35 mm but do not rely on my memory, it's crap a lot of the time.

FUEL PUMP REBUILD 912

Mac, you can use a 1 1/4 inch (31.75 mm) piece of wood to fit into the pump cavity to set the preload on the diaphragm.
Use a vise to carefully apply the pressure against the piece of wood and lever and to hold the pump while you tighten the screws.
