Transmission Hoop Carrier Bolt

#1 Post by Dennis Vogel »

I am trying to replace a missing bolt for connecting the transmission hoop (aka carrier) to the chassis. I'm a bit confused by a couple things.
  • I assume #73 is the correct bolt for the hoop on both sides. #69 is for something other than the hoop?
  • When I look up the part number for #73 it can't find it on the usual vendor sites. 900.082.006.02. Seems like it would be a commonly needed part and nothing special (M12 x 1.5 x 30). Why can't I find one?
Thanks for your help.

I can’t imagine what #69 is. Maybe the one you want is just too common for them to bother. I actually think Home Depot has them.

#69 is the bolt used to mount the transmission mount to the hoop isn't it? 6 required is a hint.

The hoop bolt #73 is spec'd as 12 x 1,5 x 30, DIN 961, which is fully threaded; part number: 900 083-023-01 -- which is a normal stock item from the usual suspects -- not Home Depot !

The other bolt #69 is for the trans mounts to the hoop.

Home Depot does have fully threaded bolt, but you’d have to shorten it by 5mm. This is not to downplay Stoddard/NLA, I am at Stoddard frequently to purchase parts, and appreciate it greatly.

I always support all of our vendors. Where would we be without them? ..............Jim.

Thanks Brad. Is there a reason Stoddard doesn't reference the part number listed in the Factory parts manual or the word "transmission"? Without your post, I don't know how I would have ever found it.
