Flying Pegasus or not?

So I have a nice pair of vinyl decals in my hands but having a hard time putting any sticker on a painted surface. I'm not much of a sticker guy to begin with but really appreciate the look. What are your thoughts? Here's my '62 for reference.

Although I think they were originally put on the front fenders, why not put them on the quarter windows? if you don't like the look, easy to remove without damaging the glass as opposed to possibly damaging paint.

To me those stickers have become a cliche. (Sort of like hood straps)
You could probably get magnetic ones.

I'm with Martin. I say NOT. Same with headlight grills - add them to the list. But it's your car, so you should do what you want with it.

I just did a quick Google and eBay search but no magnetic ones. You could always buy the stickers and attach them to magnetic sheet material. Not sure how well they would stick though.

get some clear "static cling" sheet (look on-line) stick the sticker to it. When you apply to the car use lots of water then squeegee ( I use an old w/s wiper blade. It WILL come off when wanted and not leave a mark. I use this method when I dress my TR3 as a racer for Halloween.
It's your car- if it makes you happy DO IT.

Try searching Etsy for “magnetic car sign” and you’ll find several vendors who will print custom artwork in the format you are seeking. Get a meatball number (year of your car) too. Plasticoat the wheels red, and have faux headlight grills printed. I think even magnetic faux leather hood straps are possible. Put it all together for Halloween and surprise your buds at Cars & Coffee!

Your car, your choice. They are easily removed with a heat gun. Front fenders please. .........Jim.

Stickers can be removed from paint with rubber cement thinner without damage to the paint.

If they stay on for 3-4! years plasticizers from the vinyl or adhesive go into the paint. It can be perfectly shiny but slightly discolored. I once painted a Fiat that had pinstripes which I removed and primed over. You could see the locations perfectly in the new silver paint.

Picture of a NNJR members car who had a very nice custom 356, the Pegasus looked right on his car.
I assure you it was not pink, it was a cream color. Colors don't always transfer well to the computer.

I had the same problem that Martin had. When I got my '58 coupe way back in the day, it was in gray timer with a dark gray primer racing stripe down the center. I sanded it all down, primered it in the garage (much to the dismay of my mom) and had the car painted. You could still see the faint outline of the racing stripe.
