Dick Weiss did a great job overhauling bottom end! Car runs good and makes good OP.
Jim overhauled my Zenith’s - he told me car would run completely different & he was right! Like adding frosting to a cake.

... and we shouldn't forget Candace! She is a very large part of their excellent customer service. Very knowledgeable on these carburetors.

At our age Jim, we can't remember everything. That's what friends are for. In any case, it's a first class outfit and I'll include John Jenkins in the mix even though he does distributors for them and that's a bit off topic.

Wes, he does all mine too. Even took a ABARTH 750 Morelli and converted it from vacuum to mechanical. Although it nearly ended our friendship. He is still mad at me. .............Jim.

Re: zenith carbs from carb rescue
Years ago a friend was finishing an H Modified with one of those Abarth/Fiats. It was a long project with many delays, and he had no distributer. I suggested. "Why not just adapt one of those plentiful, cheap, VW distributers. 30 German degrees advance is the same as 30 Italian degrees." He took my advice and just made it to Thompson as tech was closing. But the engine wouldn't run. It would start but as soon as you gave it any throttle it would die. Much head scratching, they took the car home very disappointed. It turned out that the Italian distributer rotated the other way from the VW! 30 degrees of Italian advance translated to 30 degrees of German retard.

I speak from a great deal of experience. Once one deviates from factory stock, trouble follows. At 82, I still do it, yes and it is always trouble. At present I'm doing a Crosley/Devin with a Sprite tranny. What could go wrong ??? ............Jim.

You could always stick a Corvair engine in it and then wonder why you had one speed forward and three in reverse.....
