Photo needed. 356A T-1 dash

#1 Post by Gordon Maltby »

Hi Gang,
I'm hoping someone can help me find a nice photo of an early A coupe dashboard, with the speedometer on the left. Must be near original. For a book celebrating the 75th anniversary of the 356. Please contact me directly. Thanks!

Hi Gordon,

Mike Immarino in Ohio has a very early T-1 with European badging. In fact, he believes it could possibly be the first A car sold in the US based on chassis number. I will shoot you his contact info.

Thanks, Guys. I think I have that covered now.

NEXT needed image: a nice European Pre-A coupe, 1955. Preferably a 3/4 exterior shot from the front showing the script. Should be near original with no mods. Thanks!

You mean a type European or a european spec pre A. There is no such thing as a pre A European. Either a T1A European or a pre A continental.

Jules, Thanks for that question. Brain fade late in the day! Yes, I need a "Continental" pre-A photo. Duh.

Correct 1956 instruments should have the large center buttons.

I believe he is referring to the center of the speedo and tach, round buttons on the needles.

Both my 1956 cars came with the big "button" on the needles. (On left) Looks like the later small buttons in the gauges in post #9 .
