One side would be pulling and the other side pushing. Make your choice.
Huh. Both sides have a pushrod. Once a throttle lever is on its idle stop, pulling is futile. But I'm sure I'm stuck thinking inside the box here.

You can still pull, it just don't move.

Agreed. But then only a "push" can screw up what was a sound idle.

That's why I have suggested, when syncing carbs "off idle", to shorten the high-volume side's rod rather then lengthen the low-volume side's. Then idle sync cannot be disturbed, only extra upstream linkage take-up introduced.

Not disagreeing it's just too hot to work outside so you have to put up with me surfing and commenting.

Talking of synching carbs, here's my lazy way to do my Zeniths.

David Jones - I assume the 'lazy way' to sync Zenith carbs with the filter can attached involves your 'yet to be patented' flat disc adapter ?

No John, I have a synchrometer that fits the Zeniths inlet. Picture will be added later. That disc was for my original synchrometer that needed an adapter.

I have always taken the can off, now I realize that’s not necessary. Doh!

Sychrometer with adapter. Not the good SK version that I dropped and broke but an Amazon replacement that appears to work just as well.

That one shown says "SK" on it, is it ersatz, a fugazi as it were?

Yes it is, I took a chance on the cheaper one and it appears to work OK.

Ok, here's how clueless I am. I've got one just like yours, with the adapter and all. I bought it cheap, hoping it would match the readings of my original one (which says "Made In Germany" and has a tiny oval logo "STE"). I bought it decades ago from Stoddard I think. Anyway, while the cheap one works, its readings don't track the old one's, and I doubt there's a way to adjust them. I was hoping to use two at a time to avoid having to shift one between carbs many times. Long shot, oh well.
