That isn't one of those cheap units that have the ability to drop internal bits down the carb throat if they break, is it?

It has a screen so I assume not. I will add a picture later of the innards. It is the EMPI version and it was $33 on Amazon and is now $54. I was considering getting another but I will continue to swap this back and fore in the interests of implied repeatability and hence better accuracy.
Just checked on Amazon and they offer one version with adapter for $54 and the same unit without adapters for $39. The original STE version is still available and looks identical with same adapters but costs nigh on $60 with shipping. Yes I could afford to buy it but yet again it is an item I want, but do not need, so I will pass. I have enough stuff I don't need already. Is it just me or do others suffer from this desire to buy stuff just because it looks like it will be useful or just plain satisfying to own.
Sorry, that was really a rhetorical question to this group I believe.

If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Of course there's no guarantee that two of the same manufacture will both display the same reading for a given airflow. Here's where the old adjustable Unisyn comes handy, if one had two of them, as long as they hold their setting under judicious handling.David Jones wrote: ↑Sat Jun 25, 2022 8:25 am It is the EMPI version and it was $33 on Amazon and is now $54. Regardless of the unit, buy two and then swap them back and forth without changing anything. That should verify that they at least agree. (Might be off by the same amount, but we're looking for balance not actual volume.)

The vane has a tiny balance weight attached to it and when I dropped my original STE unit the weight left for nether regions so now it reads about 10 when not in use. I am going to try and affix another weight and see if I can get it back in service. I have had other more pressing tasks to see too according to the one who lives in the house with me.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Did John ever get to solve his problem? Or does he now just know what type of Synchros to use
