Need Headlight Flasher Relay

#1 Post by Leo Dreisilker »

I am in search of a Bosch headlight flasher relay per the photo. It says Lichthupe mit Heckbl. 6V. I put this on the wanted site and have had no traction. Someone said there are some issues with the buy/sell. I have called and emailed many people and I feel that an "All Points Bulletin" is necessary. I went to another member of Midwest 356 and he had 5 different ones. I drove over to his house immediately just to find out they were all entirely different ones. Photos below, click on for better detail. Thanks

In the Pre A Corner there is a thread for someone looking for Pre A parts. A member in Germany is mentioned. Not sure if the relay you are looking for is a Pre A part but worth contacting him.

Leo, it often helps to add to your profile or mention in your post the model of 356 you are inquiring about.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

These are a very needed part in the community, both of the relays in their original form. one can get them in. There is an avid 356 guy who builds electric motors and relays who is very capable of getting them made maybe all of us can prod him along to get the job done. I have spoken with him before about it. His business is Dreisilker Electric Motors, Inc.

If you have the original relay and it does not work, you can change the internals, it will look original.
Here a Bosch relay that looks similar to the one you are looking for.

I finally found something that should work. I ordered this relay off of Ebay. It is Wherle and looks similar to origial Bosch. Has same terminals and if it works I will paint it black to look the same as other relay. Price was $65.00 plus shipping. Has nice wiring diagram too.
