Re: 356A front fenders and nose on a 356B
30-40 years ago there were many 356 Porsches running around Portland in various states of disrepair. A Porsche friend and I noticed a T5 356B with a 356A front end. Then we noticed a 356A with a T5 nose. Each had the correct bumpers for the front of the car, but the rear bumpers were the correct one for the rear half of the car. So the cars stood out with the the mismatched bumpers. We saw them many times in the late 70's and early 80's. They were the subject of a couple "beer in hand" conversations, the theme being to buy them both and switch the front ends back to their appropriate rear halves. If I remember correctly the A was a sunroof car, but it might have been the B.

That's pretty cool story, yeah mine is going to be like that, I just like the A front ends better than the B and my car is very far from original and front metal is rough. Definitely going to be an outlaw, no bumpers, just nerf bars or something

Deluxe Customs in AZ is turning a T5 into a T1. If you want to do it correctly, there are many differences, also on the inner fenders. Some subtle, others very obvious. See here: https://deluxecustoms.com/project/39745/

Is that door hinge locator a normal Celette fixture?

In the 60's we put a B front end and rear bumper on the car. I believe the parts were new and the car was never driven in the rain or snow. I sold the car to Mr. Von Nolting ( I am glad to see he is still alive) and it resides in Europe. I was too tall and the windshield was too short. zim

If welding isn’t an issue, buy the A nose from RD. I’ve put one on a 55 Speedster (with the modifications to make it correct for PreA)Chad m Yeadon wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 7:20 pm Yeah, welding isn't an issue for me, I just didn't know what all it would involve. Had not seen any restoration pictures and such on here of someone doing it. I'm not looking for a concourse restoration, just want to do it correctly if I had to do it. Inner fenders, hood, fenders etc.

Make sure the RD rain gutter profile is the same as your factory rain gutter, if not, save your original rain gutter. I would not be surprised if there are small differences in the flow of the panel, but definitely manageable. The panel from RD is nice!
