Some time ago a member sent me a box of folders which contained restoration documents and photos of cars which had been done by Russ Ulrich in the 80s/90s. I had since moved and the box was deep in storage and I pretty much forgot about it. I finally ran across it again and so wanted to publish the list of cars - fifteen 356s. Almost all the folders have receipts and photos of the car in question. One or two just have a couple of documents but most have quite a bit and I am sure any current owner would love to have it. I do apologize for misplacing the box and finally getting around to trying to distribute the info but if you currently own one of the cars in the list below, contact me via email (click the little ... cloud to the right to send me an email - I don't monitor the forum regularly). If you will show me some proof of current ownership, like a photo of current registration, etc. (you can redact anything other than the VIN and your name), I will mail you the folder for your car free of charge.

Forum monitor - you might want to consider making this a sticky until the folders find their current owners.

I was contacted by the current owner of the listed '59 Cab below, (which is now in Germany) and he was very pleased to receive a 1/4 inch thick folder of old receipts, documents, etc. for his car. Spread the word to check the list for your or a friend's car!

Is that last number for a '69 911 or a '69 Bug? This probably is a real pain in the butt when the same VIN exists in the national database for both models at titling time.

Sooo close! The '58 coupe was 203 numbers before mine. As others have stated, kudos to you for trying to get these doc's into the current owners hands.

So far, one current owner has been found and sent the document package for his car (in Germany, no less). I'm sure most of these cars still exist out there and probably a good percentage of them belong to Registry members so if you have any friends with A coupes, ConvDs, B coupes/notchbacks/cabs/roadsters, then please ping them to check the list above. Russ Ulrich, wow that name goes back. Bought an engine from him back in the '80s and picked it up at an event in CA. He put rope loops around each end and we lifted it out of his trunk with a long steel pole through the loops. Who knows, could have been one of the engines on the list. Guy named Mike Telles in San Diego bought it.

Chuck, have you looked the numbers up in Chassis Number History? Might find a lucky owner…?

I've checked the databases and trails are cold except one (2020), which I'm checking. Here is all the information I have on any past history.
