I am setting up the database for our new Registry on our new website. I have never seen a Reutter report and recently Jim Liberty posted that they do not show extras, which I assume means the bolt on options. A lot of things could happen at Porsche that Reutter would not know about like ???? ... engine type, transmission options, etcetera. Those of you that have the Reutter documents, what is missing on them that is found on your Kardex/CoA? What options do show on the Reutter reports? Thank you.

Hi cliff

I have a reutter cert for all my reutter cars as well as the kardex. The reutter cert shows no options, no numbers other than the vin. It has colors for everything including knobs, steering column, switches, carpet, binding etc as well as the respective original manufacturer. The kardex info like engine/trans numbers, key codes, dealer info etc is not on the reutter cert.

Both docs have their own value. If you want to restore a car just like it left the plant when new, the reutter certificate is incredibly useful. If you want to know 'numbers' and options and some of the car's history, the kardex is your doc

I did actually write about this and printed examples in the magazine. Pretty sure it was Jan/Feb 2020, V 43, # 5

That is a surprise. I guess that I will delete the Registry questions about options reported by Reutter.

Wouldn’t Reutter have been the makers and installers of tops and sunroofs, that surely they had that information?

I am sure they have it, but it just is not part of the information provided on the reutter certificate.

I received a Reutter certificate on my 59 A cab and it was the first document to confirm that the car was a hardtop only delivery. The COA and Kardex said nothing about a hardtop. But the Reutter certificate provided the hard top number and color (and the original hardtop is still with the car). It also provided interior colors and materials for the car which were missing from the Kardex and COA. So there is information on hard tops.

Cab owners w/soft top, what does the Reutter certificate list in the "Convertible Frame" box? Is it a paint color or a number? Thanks. Cliff
