in a fully assembled car. I was looking at attaching the two ends of the cable via a small pipe fitting......
anyone got a good link or suggestion on how to tackle this one?

Installing a tachometer cable
connect the two cables with a 3/8 inch steel pipe close nipple and some friction tape to make it slide better. You may have to remove the gear shift to get room to work. lift it up and put it on its side. Start from the rear and pull to the front. al zim
